XS Black Safety Backup Clip
Safety is always first! For your pets that are a high flight risk, scare easily, or can be escape artists with their collars, we recommend using a safety backup clip to attach to a second collar or harness. This is for dogs who are on the smaller side (i.e., Chihuahuas, etc.). Currently, the only Biothane® option for this size is black. For weight comparison, the 7 inch safety backup clip weighs approximately 3.2 oz and the XS 7 inch safety backup clip weighs approximately 1.25 oz. The break strength for this product is 200 lbs.

We currently only offer the XS safety backup clips in black BioThane® webbing, but allow you to customize the hardware (black or silver)! Choose the best size for you and your pet, with smaller sizes being best for a double collar combination and longer sizes being best for a collar and harness combination.

You have the option to choose from silver or black nickel-plated hardware. The hardware for this leash includes the clips on each end of the leash, D-rings and O-rings, and Chicago-style screws.
Please keep in mind that by nature black plating is more susceptible to scratching and chipping than other finishes. Over time and with consistent contact you may see the nickel-plated base layer. Please also inspect the gear before each use for wear and tear that could cause safety issues.
